It may be winter in Massachusetts, but you can still get locally grown fresh vegetables, greens, fruits, meats, cheeses, mushrooms, jams, breads, pasta and other food products.
The Mass Department of Agricultural Resources has a full list of winter markets.  Here is a sampling of winter farmers markets worth checking out.

Amherst Winter Farmers Market
Amherst Regional Middle School
Saturdays, 10 am – 2 pm
A vibrant community of farmers, food artisans and craftspeople offering a wealth of locally produced goods. Vendors include Apex Orchard, Berkshire Mountain Bakery, Grace Hill Farm, Red Fire Farm, and Austin Brothers Family Farm.
Canal District Farmers Market
Compton Place, Worcester
Saturdays, 9 am – Noon
Home grown products from the rich farmlands of Central Mass.  Vendors include Open Meadow Farm, Peg’s Preserves, Hartman’s Herb Farm, Oakdale Farm and Stillman’s Dairy Farm.
Haymarket
Haymarket Square, Boston
Nestled between Boston’s Italian North End and Faneuil Hall, the Cradle of Liberty, Haymarket has been an active marketplace since the 1700s, when farmers from Cape Cod and North Shore brought their hay to sell.  Today it is full of fresh fruits and vegetables, fish and meets, and ethnic food from around the world.
Marshfield Winter Farmers Market
Marshfield Fairgrounds, Marshfield
Third Saturday of the Month, 10 am – 2 pm
The Marshfield Agricultural & Horticultural Society brings together local producers such as Norwell Farms, DaSilva Farm Poultry, Downeast Cider House, Boathouse Lobster and Fish and more.

Northampton Winter Farmers’ Market
Smith Vocational & Agricultural High School, Northampton
Saturdays, 9 am – 2 pm
The Pioneer Valley’s first winter market, filled with local delights.  You can sit and have a hot soup or desert or coffee.  Vendors include Winter Moon Roots, Twin Oaks Farm, Cricket Creek Farm and parish Hill Creamery.
Pittsfield Winter Farmers Market
Boys & Girls Club, Downtown Pittsfield
Second Saturday of the Month, 9 am – 1 pm
Check out vendors from Assembly Coffee Roasters, Cricket Creed Farm, North Yeast Bakery, White Goose Gardens and more.
