With nicknames such as the “City of Champs” and “Titletown,” Boston is known for its dominance in all professional sports, with the Boston Celtics having won 17 NBA Championships, the New England Patriots winning six Super Bowl Championships, the Boston Bruins winning six Stanley Cup Championships, and the Boston Red Sox winning nine World Series Championships.
Boston isn’t the only place that’s prominent in the sports scene. Massachusetts – the State of Champions – has some terrific sporting events this summer and fall! Here are eight sporting events happening throughout Massachusetts you can enjoy.
July 21st Cape Cod Baseball All-Star Game
This Sunday, July 21st, the Cape Cod Baseball League is hosting its annual All-Star Game at Orleans, Eldredge Park at 6:00 PM. The Cape Cod League, founded in 1885, is recognized by collegiate coaches and professional baseball scouts as one of the best amateur summer league in the country. If you are around the area, be sure to catch this game and see some of the best young talents in baseball go head to head against each other.
July 21st Liverpool FC vs Sevilla FC at Fenway Park
The Liverpool FC returns to the home of the Red Sox for its preseason game against Spain’s oldest football club, Serville FC. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 4:30 p.m.. August 3rd & 4th Pan Mass Challenge
The 39th annual Pan Mass Challenge, presented by the Boston Red Sox Foundation and New Balance, is the nation’s original fundraising bike-a-thon, raising more money than any other athletic fundraisers in the country. As of last year, the Pan Mass Challenge raised more than $50 million dollars for charities such as the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. August 11th Nantucket Lacrosse Festival
The PrimeTime Lacrosse returns to the island of Nantucket in 2019 for its 11th annual Nantucket Lacrosse Festival, featuring 3v3 matches for boys and girls U-11 and U-19 teams.
